![]() ![]() ![]() If anyone has any idea what might be wrong, I'd be very grateful. Scroll down to videodriver, change the parameters from gl to d3d, then press Ctrl + S to save the changes. My graphic card is a Radeon 5850 HD (severely outdated I know) and I run Windows 10 64 bit (LTSC). Here’s how to update graphic card drivers to fix RetroArch crashing before the game loads: Go to the RetroArch directory on your device and open retroarch.cfg with Windows NotePad. ![]() So basically, it seems I need to activate this option for Retroarch to work correctly on my PC.Īs I said, my test ROM worked fine on my laptop and also on two separate SMS emulators (Blastem and Kega), so I must be missing something and I'd like to know what. I tried to alter all kinds of video settings to no avail and I was about to give up when I clicked on "Toggle Exclusive Fullscreen" as a last-chance thing and suddenly, the framerate climbed to 60 FPS and the game became playable. The problem does not occur on my much more recent Asus laptop where everything is fine. I suggesst saving it on a per game basis as on the N64 the amount of active area a game rendered to can vary greatly, just look at Wave Race 64 for example. While trying to solve the issue, I found out that this is due to the framerate being only slightly above 30 FPS when it should of course of 60 FPS. The solution is to go into the core options, go to 'crop overscan' and then set it to the value that makes the game fill the screen, it should be around 8 for that game. Here's the issue: after installing Retroarch and launching a Master System rom, the game is unplayable (horribly slow and terrible audio). It's quite old (2010) and certainly outdated by today's standards, but I figure it should be enough to play old 8-bit games. I have installed Retroarch on my desktop PC. ![]()
